Dr. Anthony Lizano is a graduate of U.C.L.A. School of Dentistry and he obtained additional post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut. In 1996 he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry. There are approximately 300 doctors nationally Board Certified in Implant Dentistry and Dr. Lizano is the only one currently with an active practice in Contra Costa County.

Dr. Lizano is a native of the Bay Area. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Davis. In 1991 he returned to Walnut Creek to establish Diablo Valley Implant Dentistry, a practice limited exclusively to Implant Dentistry. In 1998 he opened our state-of-the-art Dental Implant Center in Danville.

In addition to being a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry, Dr. Lizano is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Lizano is an active member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association. For many years he has served on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa Dental Society and served as President of the dental society in 2010.

He has given numerous continuing education lectures to other dentists on implant dentistry, published articles on implant dentistry, and served as the president of several implant study groups.

Dr. Lizano is on staff member at John Muir Hospital as well as on staff at Aspen Surgery Center. He holds a state permit for the administration of conscious sedation. He has assisted the California Dental Board as an examiner of dentists seeking conscious sedation permits. Dr. Lizano also served as a state appointed Qualified Medical Evaluator.
